5/1/08 On the fourth day of our Spring
gobbler season I shot this brute. He came
in following two jakes, gobbling all the way
and accompanied by his twin! The four put
on quite a show in front of my blind and
strutting and displaying for my decoy. 9"
beard, 3/4" spurs and 20.5 pounds.  17
yards, 1 7/8 oz, buffered #5 shot.
June- Went out to Indianapolis to visit
our granddog, Brady. Cute little
bugger and loves the retrieving game!
August- My son Rich with some
nice Western Maine brook trout
and salmon! A rainy summer
kept stream flows high resulting
in the  best fishing we have
seen in years.

September- Rich and I spent 10 days fishing in the south-west corner of Montana,
visiting the Yellowstone, Gallatin, Poindexter Slough, Beaverhead and Big Hole rivers.
We had hoped to fish the Madison but due to the Hebron Dam rupture it was
un-fishable.  We caught fish in all of the rivers, but had the best fishing on the Big Hole
where we caught lots of rainbows (to 18" long) on dry flies and I caught a 21"+ brown
trout. A great trip!
October- I shot these ducks and goose
during the NH Coastal Zone early
season. Lots of pin feathers and not
much fat, but good to eat none the
less!
11/5/08 Jason Williams, one of my
customers, with an old friend of his- a
40", 47 lb. , tagged striper. Jason has
caught this fish twice, the first time was
14 years ago! Way to go Jason!
11/22 Received these pictures and note from my friend Ken  in
Vermont: : "Hi Jim. Wanted to send you pictures of a goose hunt
today. Your call worked great and we had an excellent day. Thanks
for the great call and happy hunting! Ken Capsey"
October- My son
and his friend John
shot these ducks,
sharptails and a
swan in Montana!
December- Took the
afternoon off and went to
the river for a late season
hunt. Love those late
season mallards- scarce ,
wary and plenty fat!
December- Late
season mallard
and blackduck.
12/08- Will and I took our annual
Christmas goose/duck hunt down
to South Jersey where we hunted
with Kevin Popo and Keith
McCowen, both world champion
goose callers. That is Keith with
Will in the picture to the left. We
had a great time and on our
second day we enjoyed the duck
blind with another father and son
duo, Herb and Eric.
1/09 My friend and fellow decoy
maker Kenley sent these late
season hunt pictures. You
gotta be serious about your
duck hunting when you go out
in  this cold!
1/09 Will, his friend John and I went out
to Arkansas for a duck hunt. We shot 9
ducks the first day but the rice paddy
froze during the night and the ducks
were gone for our second day of
hunting.
5/8/09 We had clear skies this morning
following several days of rain and the turkeys
were gobbling over in New Hampshire! I called
in a nice long-beard shortly after sunrise but
even though he was close I was unable to move
the gun enough to take a shot. Instead I settled
for this 15 lb jake with a 4inch beard. Ought to
eat well!
5/12/09 This morning I set up on a gobbling
turkey at about 7:30 and started to call. In
response I received a gobble and a several hen
yelps. The hen came to me talking all of the way
but the gobbler wouldn't move closer- perhaps he
had other hens to occupy him. After the hen
moved out of sight I went back to the house,
showered, had my second mug of coffee and then
went to re-try the gobbler. This time I set up on
the opposite side of him and on the second series
of yelps he responded and ended up the subject
of the above photos! 19lb 4 oz, 9"beard, 1" spurs
